Public Affairs Officer
1st Lt. Adelle McKinney
Adelle McKinney was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was raised in
Southern California.
Adelle graduated from El Monte High School and was awarded the
Rotary Club Award for her outstanding work as Secretary of Publicity
for school. She also received the Hall of Fame for Science and
Math.
She received an Honors at Entrance Award and full scholarship to
attend the University of Southern California. At USC she was a
member of the Naval Womens ROTC Auxiliary and participated in many
events on campus during the Vietnam war.
She met and married Michael McKinney, (Chaplain -CAP) and they
entered full time ministry in 1971. She later earned her Th.D in
Christian Education and is currently registrar at Promise Christian
University, Pasadena, California.
In 2001 she joined the Civil Air Patrol as a senior member when
her husband became a Chaplain. Since that time, she has served
as Public Affairs Officer for Brackett Composite Squadron 64, Chaplains
Corps of the California Wing; and currently
she is the Public Affairs Officer for the Chaplains Corps of
the Pacific Region.
She has was awarded the Meritorious Service Award 2004, 2006, Commanders
Commendation 2003,2004,2005,2006, and Yeager Award. She has been
the Public Affairs Officer of the year for Group 1 several times,
CAWG in 2003 and PCR in 2004. She assisted in developing the first
web sites for her local squadron, the CAWG Chaplain’s Corps
and the PCR Chaplain’s Corps. Her newsletter for Squadron
64 won the CAWG award in 2002 and 2003.
