Chaplain Ledden has served as a pastor in the United Methodist
Church (UMC) since 1962. He has served churches along the East
Coast, in the Southeast as well as in the Northwest. Though he
has "retired" twice, he is still actively involved in
the pastoral leadership of the UMC on the Grand Ronde Reservation.
In addition to his local church responsibilities, Chaplain Ledden
has taken an active leadership role in local ministerial associations
and regional and state Ecumenical Ministries groups. He has also
received specialized training in Clinical Pastoral Education and
the Critical Incident Management System and holds certification
as an elementary school teacher.
Chaplain Ledden was endorsed as a CAP chaplain by his denomination
in 1984 and has served as Squadron chaplain in the Marshfield (Central
Coast), Grants Pass, and McMinnville Composite Squadrons; and John
Day, Hood River Senior Squadrons. He served as Oregon Wing Chaplain
for 12 years and continues to serve as Wing Chaplain Emeritus.
Chaplain Ledden holds Emergency Services ratings as Mission Chaplain,
Public Affairs Officer, Radio Operator, Ground Team Member, Observer
and Scanner.
Chaplain Ledden has the Masters Rating as a chaplain and has earned
the Gill Rob Wilson Award. In addition to numerous Commander's
Commendations, Chaplain Ledden has received the Meritorious and
Exceptional Service Awards.
